midiatização do mundo. This paper analyzes the role played by the media to the reconfiguration of the Afro- Brazilian religious field, after the widespread access to digital technologies by Brazilian popular classes and, more specifically, by the believers of the Afro-Brazilian religions. It is justified by the needing to investigate the changes occurring in religions centered on oral tradition, after the process of mediatization and hypertextualization of the sacred, of the religious secret. It highlights the importance of the use of the new communication technologies and the appropriation of digital technologies by the believers for the redefinition of liturgical practices in opposition to the mythical narratives that perpetuated the traits and religious forms through the orality. The exploration of "aesthetic and artistic dimension" of religious life deserves special attention, since that it corroborates the "frivolity" of the life on the Internet beyond the limits of the sacred and the religious, presenting its most profane face: the spectacle of life. Thus, this paper aims to understand the way in which the use of new information and communication technologies and the appropriation of digital technologies by candomblé people build new ways of sociability in the virtual reality as well as offline. |
