Desenvolvimento do pensamento económico em jovens e adolescentes

Abstract

O presente estudo aborda o tema da Psicogênese do Desenvolvimento Económico. Este modelo foi proposto por Denegri, que com base nos postulados do modelo Piagestiano, visa explicar como as crianças e adolescentes acomodam e constroem os conceitos económicos. Denegri, elaborou um instrumento de medida, a Escala TAE-N, validada no Chile, e utilizada nesta investigação numa amostra de 274 jovens entre os 10 e os 15 anos, dos diferentes níveis económicos alto, médio e baixo. Os objectivos desta investigação foram de avaliar e comparar o nível no desenvolvimento do pensamento económico, tendo como referência as variáveis idade, nível socioeconómico e género. O recurso à metodologia quantitativa e às técnicas estatísticas tornou possível a sistematização e análise dos dados, permitindo encontrar diferenças significativas no desempenho da escala, entre os diferentes níveis socioeconómicos, bem como, compreender a existência de uma tendência de evolução do constructo económico nas diferentes idades. Através da articulação deste referencial teórico, que sublinha a importância de uma Educação Económica, enquanto factor cada vez mais estruturante da vida social, procurou-se também, salientar a importância deste tema, com novos contributos teóricos e analíticos neste domínio.

This paper addresses the issue of Psychogenesis of Economic Development. This model was proposed by Denegri that, based on the assumptions of the model Piagestiano, aims to explain how children and adolescents accommodate and builds the economic concepts. Denegri, developed a measuring instrument, the TAE-N Scale, validated in Chile, and this research used a sample of 274 young people between 10 and 15 years of different economic levels high, medium and low. The objectives of this research were to evaluate and compare the level in the development of economic thought, with reference to the variables age, socioeconomic status and gender. The use of quantitative methodology and statistical techniques have made possible to systematize and analyze the data, allowing us to find significant differences in performance level between the different socioeconomic levels, and to understand the existence of a trend of economic development of the construct at different ages. Through the articulation of this theoretical approach, which emphasizes the importance of Economic Education, a factor increasingly structuring of social life, it was also noted the importance of this theme, with new theoretical and analytical contributions in this field.
