Da cidade à serra : Uma travessia para Monsanto

Abstract

O seguinte trabalho centra-se na articulação da Freguesia de São Domingos de Benfica com o Parque Florestal de Monsanto, através do vazio adjacente a Praça Marechal Humberto Delgado. A proposta tem como objetivo articular a relação entre cidade e parque, atualmente fragmentada. O projeto propõe habitar o vazio através de três plataformas em diferentes cotas, que configuram espaço público e estruturam a travessia até Monsanto. Esta operação desenha a relação entre cidade e o parque, consolidando a estrutura territorial e a continuidade do espaço público. A intervenção transforma o vazio identificado numa estrutura coerente.

This work focuses on articulating the relationship between the parish of São Domingos de Benfica and the Monsanto Forest Park, through the void adjacent to Praça Marechal Humberto Delgado. The proposal aims to re-establish the connection between the city and the park, currently fragmented. The project proposes inhabiting this void through three platforms at different levels, which define public space and structure the crossing towards Monsanto. This operation shapes the relationship between the urban fabric and the park, consolidating the territorial structure and the continuity of public space. The intervention transforms the identified void into a coherent and articulated structure capable of enhancing the territory and strengthening its relationship with the Monsanto Forest Park.
