Flexibilidade, uma forma de reabilitar: Pare, escute, olhe: Estação ferroviária de Duas Igrejas-Miranda

Abstract

Num mundo em constante mudança, a adaptação de edifícios antigos é uma solução efipaz para atender às necessidades da população. Tornar edifícios em espaços flexíveis, capazes de responder às futuras necessidades dos utilizadores, é crucial, especialmente em regiões isoladas e com baixa densidade populacional, como em Trás-os-Montes. Este trabalho apresenta uma análise desta região, assim como do património ferroviário da linha do Sabor, com foco especial na estação terminal de Duas Igrejas-Miranda, abordando o estudo do conceito de flexibilidade em arquitetura, e incluindo casos de estudo relevantes. É também, apresentada uma proposta de reabilitação dessa estação, transformando-a numa albergaria flexível, capaz de acolher não apenas os futuros utilizadores da ecopista da linha do Sabor, mas também de apoiar as necessidades futuras da aldeia onde a estação está localizada. Pode-se dizer que o edifício é visto como um organismo vivo que quando é habitado vai se modificando ao longo do tempo. Desta forma, a abordagem para a reabilitação deste conjunto de edifícios da estação passa por montar uma estratégia que pode ser adaptada pelos futuros utilizadores, ao mesmo tempo que respeita a história do edifício.

In a constantly changing world, adapting old buildings is an effective solution to meet the needs of the population. Making buildings flexible spaces, capable of responding to the future needs of users, is crucial, especially in isolated regions with low population density, such as Trás-os-Montes. This work presents an analysis of this region, as well as the railway heritage of the Sabor line, with a special focus on the terminal station of Duas Igrejas-Miranda. Addressing the study of the concept of flexibility in architecture, including relevant case studies. A proposal for the rehabilitation of this station is also presented, transforming it into a flexible hostel capable of welcoming not only the future users of the Sabor ecopista line but also supporting the future needs of the village where the station is located. One could say that the building is seen as a living organism that changes over time when inhabited. Thus, the approach to rehabilitating this set of station buildings involves developing a strategy that can be adapted by future users while respecting the building's history.
