Remote work has proven to be beneficial for Information Technology organizations, with workers more productive and able to work more hours in full-time models. However, in project management, remote work presents challenges, especially in terms of knowledge sharing and engagement between remotely distributed teams, and it is important to understand the role of the project manager and what contributions he/she can make to mitigate them. A sample of 15 participants from the information technology sector was interviewed in order to understand the main impacts, causes and trends in project management in a remote environment. From this study, it was found that knowledge sharing is considered fundamental to the success of organizations and that the project manager has a crucial role in this process. In order for the project manager's role to be successful in the future, it is important to know in advance which success factors may contribute to better knowledge sharing, communication, and a good process of learning lessons, such as factors like valorization, negotiation power, onboarding, meetings, team building, and clear rules, reinforcing the information described in the literature. |
