Faculdade de Medicina de Cascais: Feita de memórias

Abstract

O presente trabalho procura mostrar e dar a entender todo o trabalho de investigação e projeto que foi feito a nível individual e de grupo desenvolvendo várias vertentes, temas abordados e explorados ao longo do ano letivo 2020 – 2021 do 5.º ano de curso do Mestrado Integrado em Arquitetura, lecionado pela professora Doutora Teresa Marat-Mendes, docente do Estúdio 5, no ISCTE-IUL. O trabalho escrito passa por três temas distintos. Começa por abordar a investigação individual desenvolvida acerca das diferentes fases do sistema alimentar especificamente em Cascais, passando pelos diferentes constituintes de cada fase e analisando os mesmos quanto ao espaço, tipologia e outros valores relativos à presença na cidade. Como segundo tema, analisa-se uma breve passagem acerca do desafio lançado pelo atelier do arquiteto José Adrião e respetivo trabalho realizado em grupo no Workshop de PFA ’21 que decorreu ao longo da primeira semana de junho. Por último, será desenvolvido o tema de projeto final de arquitetura. Procurar-se-á, nesta última fase do documento, acerca do projeto final de arquitetura, entender a problemática apresentada acerca da falta de estabelecimentos de ensino superior em Cascais e de que maneira, o projeto apresentado pode vir a resolver essa questão, atendendo às necessidades dos habitantes da zona histórica onde o terreno está inserido, assim como a todos os novos estudantes e trabalhadores que usufruirão do espaço. Este trabalho enquadra-se principalmente no âmbito do processo de desenvolvimento de projeto de arquitetura da Faculdade de Medicina de Cascais. Em paralelo com temas como a contextualização histórica da Vila, surgem análises territoriais ao nível do Concelho, reduzindo a escala ao quarteirão que remata com o projeto da nova Faculdade de Medicina de Cascais.

This work seeks to show and make known all the research and project work that was done at individual and group level, developing various aspects and themes addressed and explored throughout the 2020-2021 academic year of the 5th year of the Integrated Masters course in Architecture, taught by Teresa Marat-Mendes, professor at Estúdio 5, at ISCTE-IUL. The written work goes through three distinct themes. Beginning to talk about the research carried out on the different phases of the food system specifically in Cascais, Lisbon, addressing the different constituents of each phase and analyzing the space, typology, etc. the same as well as their presence in the city. As a second theme, a brief passage about the challenge launched by the studio of architect José Adrião and the respective work carried out in a group at the PFA Workshop ’21 that took place during the first week of June. Finally, the development and final pieces of the individual architectural project. This last part of the document, seeks to present and discuss the problem about the lack of universities in Cascais and how the project presented can resolve this issue, taking into account the needs of the habitants of the historic area where the land is located, as well as all the new students and workers who will use and enjoy the space. This work fits mainly in the scope of the architectural project development process of the Cascais’ University of medicine. In parallel with themes such as the contextualization of the history of the village, territorial analyzes emerge at the county level, reducing the scale to the block that ends with the volume of the project as well with all the technical drawings and graphic pieces to better illustrate it.
