Face à complexidade do objeto
Architecture doesn’t exist in the abstract and always has a context, a concrete domain that is the territory. Territory readings are then fundamental to the conception of architecture, since these previous analysis and reflections shape the project. Sometimes when complexity is greater it becomes harder to interpret this phenomenon, not only because of the number of factors in question, but also because they are in constant mutation and aren’t always immediately visible. Given the complexity of the object of study, the municipality of Oeiras, and the challenge of its interpretation, this work analyzed some approaches and techniques of authors such as Patrick Geddes, Francesco Careri, Manuel da Maia and Álvaro Siza Vieira in order to understand how can we present a proposal consequent and integrated in the dynamics of this territory. From the study of the works of these authors, we perceive the imprescindibility of the empirical experience, which motivated the realization of several study visits on foot and bicycle by the municipality that led to the place of intervention in the locality of Tercena. The proposal is born as an answer to the problems observed in Tercena and consists of a pedestrian route that is established between the Massamá/Barcarena Station and the Barcarena Gunpowder Factory. This route offers a bypass to the precarious accesses that are currently developing next to the lanes, creating a more direct, comfortable and safe alternative to overcome the gap between these two points. The proposed itinerary acts as an atlas by gathering and reconnecting, some of Tercena’s most characteristic spaces, such as the community gardens, the lavators or the creek, creating a connection between the collective memory and the past of this locality. Through this path’s drawing its revealed what exists beyond the suburban chaos in Tercena, guiding people to know the beauty, diversity and richness of this territory, reaenting its rural and industrial heritage. |
