Cenários produtivos e recreativos em Oeiras: a quinta de recreio do Marquês de Pombal

Abstract

O presente trabalho de investigação aborda a implementação de cenários produtivos e recreativos num determinado território, através dos respetivos vazios urbanos. Com o auxílio do conceito de "Continuous productive urban landscapes" dos arquitetos Katrin Bohn e André Viljoen, o trabalho pretende alertar para a importância da produção alimentar e consumo locais e da existência de espaços de lazer. Inserido na Área Metropolitana de Lisboa, o município de Oeiras é o território de investigação e de intervenção deste trabalho. Este território caracteriza-se pelas excelentes condições para a atividade agrícola, que se intensificou nos séculos XVII e XVIII com a construção de palácios e quintas de recreio. Um dos principais exemplos é a Quinta de Recreio do Marquês de Pombal, na qual também está inserida a Casa da Pesca, um palacete de recreio. Contudo, Oeiras foi alvo do crescimento urbano acelerado, principalmente nas décadas de 70, 80 e 90 de século XX, tornando-se vitima da fragmentação do território. No entanto, a Quinta do Marquês de Pombal permaneceu até hoje imune a alterações. Por outro lado, o estado de degradação do património da Quinta tem vindo a aumentar consideravelmente. Deste modo, o trabalho pretende responder a necessidades como: a produção alimentar e consumo locais, a criação de espaços recreativos e de lazer, a coesão territorial das periferias urbanas, como Oeiras, e a requalificação do património da Quinta. Esse projeto baseia-se nas propostas de um parque agro-urbano, nos terrenos da Quinta, e de um arquivo municipal, junto ao complexo da Casa da Pesca.

This research work addresses the implementation of productive and recreational scenarios in a given territory, through the respective urban voids. With the help of the "Continuous productive urban landscapes" concept by Katrin Bohn and André Viljoen architects, the work aims to highlight the importance of local food production and consumption and the existence of leisure spaces. However, Oeiras was the target of accelerated urban growth, mainly in the 70s, 80s and 90s of the 20th century, becoming a victim of the territory fragmentation. Nevertheless, Quinta do Marquês de Pombal has remained immune to change until today. On the other hand, the state of degradation of the farm’s heritage has been increasing considerably. In this way, the work aims to respond to needs such as: local food production and consumption, the creation of recreational and leisure spaces, the territorial cohesion of urban peripheries, such as Oeiras, and the requalification of the farms´s heritage. This project is based on the proposals of an agro-urban park, on the grounds of the farm, and of a municipal archive, next to Casa da Pesca complex.
