O ativismo negro em Portugal: dinâmicas e reivindicações

Abstract

O presente artigo tem como objetivo apresentar uma linha histórica das lutas antirracistas impulsionadas pela sociedade civil portuguesa através das movimentações políticas de duas associações: SOS Racismo e a DJASS. A partir dos percursos trilhados pelas associações antirracistas, em tempos diferenciados, vamos compreender as mudanças no movimento associativo, organizado em torno da população imigrante, e nas suas estratégias de mobilização política a partir dos confrontos “ideológicos” com o Estado português e suas ações de integração, em nome de uma multiculturalidade. Os sujeitos políticos organizados reivindicam o direito de imigrar e de ter na sociedade recetora políticas públicas acolhedoras que lhe garantam status de cidadão nacional.

This article aims to present a historical timeline of antiracist struggles promoted by Portuguese civil society through the political movements of two associations: SOS Racismo and DJASS. From the paths traced by antiracist associations, at different times, we will understand the changes in the associative movement, organized around the immigrant population, and its strategies of political mobilization emanating from the “ideological” confrontations with the Portuguese State, and its actions of in the name of multiculturalism. Organized political subjects claim the right to immigrate and have welcoming public policies in the host society that guarantee national citizenship status.
