Comportamentos sociais e não sociais de crianças a frequentar o ensino pré-escolar: Associações com os estilos parentais em famílias nucleares portuguesas

Abstract

No âmbito do estudo da área comportamental e do desenvolvimento, o presente estudo analisou a potenciais associações existentes entre as diferentes dimensões do comportamento social e não social em crianças em idade do pré-escolar e variáveis sociodemográficas relativas às crianças e aos pais. Igualmente, foram analisadas possíveis associações entre variáveis sociodemográficas, relativas à criança e aos pais, e as dimensões dos estilos parentais. Testaram-se também associações entre os comportamentos sociais e não sociais das crianças e as dimensões dos estilos parentais. Os resultados alcançados estabeleceram ligações entre os comportamentos solitários passivos e de brincadeira agressiva em função do sexo da criança. Foram, também, estabelecidas associações entre o comportamento solitário passivo e o estilo autorizante da mãe. Os resultados foram discutidos no contexto da literatura de investigação existente.

Insert in the behavioral and social development investigation, this present study examined potential associations between the different dimensions of social and unsocial behavior in pre -school age children and sociodemographic variables related to children and parents. Also analyzed existing associations between sociodemographic variables, relating to children and to parents, and different dimensions of parenting styles. It was also tested associations between children’s social and unsocial behaviors and the different dimensions of parenting styles. The results achieved establish links between solitary passive and rough play behabiors, and with gender of the child. Were also established associations between solitary passive behavior and authoritative parenting style in the mother. This results were discussed regarding the context of existing research literature.
