Os 'Homens-Filhos': Tradição humanística e discurso antropológico sobre a infância e a enculturação das crianças

Abstract

Através de pesquisa teórica esta tese teve como principal objetivo ir ao encontro do tema da “enculturação infantil”. Tema que representa hoje para a antropologia da infância uma “lógica adulta”, que supostamente ignora o “ponto de vista” e a capacidade de “agência” das crianças. A par do balanço bibliográfico crítico sobre este cenário, estabeleceu-se um diálogo com dois grupos remotos de caçadores-recoletores, clássicos da primitividade, que longe de protagonizarem uma educação livre mostraram porque cresciam as suas crianças a quererem tornar-se adultos com valor. Uma mais-valia para a recuperação do tema em análise, que tal como no passado pode continuar a instituir significados comuns entre “nós” e os “outros”.

Through bibliographical research this thesis set its main goal in recovering the old theme of “children's enculturation”, seen by the bulk of today's anthropology of childhood much as an “adult-centric logic” that supposedly suppresses the children's “point of view” and ignores their capacity to “agency”. Together with a critical bibliographical review over such scenario, we have established a dialogue with two remote groups of huntergatherers, a classic of primitivity, that instead of representing, as many times admitted, a carefree type of education, were able to show us rather clearly how their children grew up desiring to become valuable adults. A good expectation for the theme's recovery, that similarly to what it did in the past is able still today to establish a common ground between “we” and “they”.
