Emigration Portuguese Factbook 2014

Abstract

O Factbook compila anualmente os principais indicadores sobre a emigração portuguesa e disponibiliza-os, em formato condensado, a todos os que necessitam desta informação, em particular investigadores, decisores e jornalistas. O Factbook está organizado em quatro capítulos. O primeiro reúne os dados agregados sobre a emigração portuguesa total, muitos dos quais são estimativas, bem como dados comparados sobre a emigração portuguesa e mundial. O segundo, sintetiza a informação sobre quatro indicadores da emigração portuguesa para os principais países de destino: fluxos, stocks, nacionalidade e registos consulares. O terceiro reúne a principal informação sobre as remessas recebidas em Portugal e enviadas de Portugal. O quarto capítulo tem um conteúdo anualmente variável. Neste primeiro número, o Factbook disponibiliza séries cronológicas sobre a emigração portuguesa, que cobrem todo o século XXI, para os principais países de destino. Inclui ainda informação básica sobre os indicadores e fontes consultados (metadata e glossário).

The Factbook is intended to be an annual compilation of the main indicators of Portuguese emigration, making it available in a condensed format to all those requiring this information: in particular to researchers, decision-makers and journalists. The Factbook consists of four chapters. The first chapter provides aggregated data on total Portuguese emigration, much of which is estimates, as well as comparative data on Portuguese and global emigration. The second chapter contains more detailed information on the four indicators of Portuguese emigration to the main destination countries: flows, stocks, citizenship, and consular records. The third chapter brings together the main information concerning remittances received in Portugal and sent from Portugal. The content of chapter four changes each year. In this first issue, the Factbook provides a chronological series on Portuguese emigration to all main destinations during the 21st century. Finally, the Factbook also contains basic information regarding the indicators and sources consulted (metadata and glossary).
