A análise do desemprego em Portugal

Abstract

Em Portugal a taxa de desemprego tem vindo a aumentar de forma exponencial nos últimos anos. Este trabalho de investigação tem como problemática principal o aumento sistemático da taxa de desemprego nos últimos vinte anos em Portugal e na UE. Este aumento do número de desempregados é consequência das inúmeras mudanças que ocorrem ao nível das estruturas económicas, mudanças essas que se vão reflectir no mercado de trabalho. O estudo empírico foi desenvolvido através de uma metodologia quantitativa, cujo objectivo é a análise da evolução do desemprego em Portugal e na União Europeia entre 1990 e o ano de 2010. Isto para percebermos qual a natureza do desemprego em Portugal, se conjuntural ou estrutural.

The unemployment rate in Portugal has been increasing exponentially in recent years. This research work has as main problem the systematic increase in the unemployment rate over the last twenty years in Portugal and the EU. This increase in unemployment growth is a result of the numerous changes that occur at the level of corporate structures, changes that also reflect in the labor market. The empirical study was developed through a quantitative methodology, aimed at analysing the evolution of unemployment in Portugal and in the European Union between 1990 and 2010. The other was to how whether the type of Portuguese unemployment is conjectural or structural.
