Abstract: | Na presente dissertação de mestrado é desenvolvida uma análise sobre os públicos da Capela
de Ossos de Évora que desde sempre exerce uma atracção versus horror, sobre os indivíduos.
Este estudo foi realizado em dois níveis: um quantitativo, onde foi recolhida a informação de
modo a possibilitar uma caracterização dos públicos da Capela dos Ossos; e um qualitativo,
onde foram averiguadas as motivações, as expectativas e o balanço da visita.
Desta análise, verificou-se que o público que visita este espaço é muito diversificado, tanto
em termos de idade, como de formação e de nacionalidade. O que move a maioria é a curiosidade.
Os visitantes por um lado são atraídos pela morbidez do espaço, por outro, pelo
fascínio que a Capela exerce sobre o ser humano, que o referenciam como um espaço magnífico,
único, singular, ou seja, uma obra de arte no seu conjunto. Este é um espaço que leva
a reflectir sobre a condição humana, um espaço que deixa marcas que nunca se esquecem. In this work, we developed an analysis of the public’s Chapel of Bones in Évora which has always accomplished a power on individuals versus horror. Such a study was conducted at two levels: a quantitative one, where information was athered to enable a characterization of the public Chapel of Bones, and a qualitative, where they investigated the motivations, expectations and evaluation of the visit. From this analysis it was found that the public who visits this space is very diverse as far as age, education, nationality are concerned. They are mostly moved by curiosity. Visitors are firstly attracted by the unusual nature of the space. Furthermore, the Chapel spells a fascination on humans bewildering it as a magnificent space, single, singular, a work of art as a whole. It gives them a place to reflect about the human condition, a place that leaves mark and is unforgettable. |
