diferenciados. This study is a product of the research done to various forms of pedagogical activity of teachers in the attainment of different school results, with the aim to understand the importance of the role of the teacher in pupils success or failure. Thus, an analysis was done of the educational and social conditions of five, year 5 classes (10 to 11 years old) from the same Secondary School, taking into account the profiles of the respective teachers and comparing the different results in Maths, in classes of similar educational and social conditions. Therefore, data has been collected from biographical registers and evaluation of pupils at the end of the academic year coupled with the interviews to the teachers. The different school results obtained show that, in the case of Maths, the success or failure of pupils depends on the strategies implemented, the way pupils are motivated to learn and the way the teacher approaches the subject. Teachers that attained the highest the highest school success show preoccupation with the pupil’s interest, they value the role of the teacher in the formation of the pupil and their teaching practices focus on following the text book and working in pairs. In short, the teacher has crucial role in the production of differentiated school results. |
