Ciberidentidades: as comunidades virtuais e o seu impacto na (re)construção das identidades

Abstract

Este trabalho de investigação procura estabelecer uma relação entre as vivências dos indivíduos no mundo real e a sua participação em comunidades virtuais, compreender de que forma as suas identidades na vida real condicionam as identidades utilizadas no mundo virtual e verificar se o processo inverso também se verifica. Mais concretamente pretende-se caracterizar os indivíduos que participam em comunidades virtuais, identificar as suas motivações iniciais e actuais para a participação nessas comunidades, perceber em que contextos acontece essa participação e quais as condicionantes, analisar o percurso de cada um dos indivíduos enquanto membro de uma comunidade virtual e compreender as dinâmicas entre a vida real e a virtual e de que forma se influenciam mutuamente.

This work aims to establish a relation between the individuals in the real world and their participation in virtual communities, to understand in which ways their real life identities regulates the identities used in the virtual world and to verify if the opposite process also happens. Specifically, we want to characterize the individuals who participate in virtual communities, to identify their early and present motivations, to understand in which contexts that participation occurs and what the conditionings are, to analyze the course of each individual as a member of a virtual community and to understand the dynamics between the virtual and real life and in what way they influence each other.
