Águas multiespécie

Abstract

Águas Multiespécie é umas das doze respostas à pergunta “O que te faz feliz?”, tendo como premissa a análise dos impactos da infraestrutura hidráulica no território rural, numa metodologia de trabalho coletivo. Num cenário onde uma barragem alterou por completo o território, água e natureza surgem como objetos de estudo da presente investigação, onde se explora o papel do arquiteto na promoção de relações humanas e não-humanas com a água. Na margem da albufeira do Cabril, um lugar maioritariamente submerso revelou cicatrizes de intervenção humana e apresenta-se como oportunidade para repensar espaços utilizando uma abordagem que valorize a pré-existência e proponha novas formas de convivência entre espécies. Assim, propõe-se uma intervenção de arquitetura onde água e natureza são agentes ativos num território em transformação. Espera-se que o trabalho desenvolvido contribua numa sensibilização e aproximação a práticas arquitetónicas que considerem a interdependência entre os diferentes seres que habitam o território.

Águas Multiespécie is one of twelve answers to the question ‘What makes you happy?’, based on the premise of analysing the impacts of hydraulic infrastructure on rural areas, through a collective work methodology. In a scenery where a dam has completely altered the territory, water and nature emerge as the objects of study in this research, which explores the role of the architect in promoting human and non-human relationships with water. On the margin of Cabril reservoir, a mostly submerged place has revealed the scars of human intervention and presents itself as an opportunity to rethink spaces using an approach that values pre-existence and proposes new forms of coexistence between species. Thus, an architectural intervention is proposed where water and nature are active agents in a territory in transformation. It is hoped that the work developed will contribute to raising awareness and bringing people closer to architectural practices that consider the interdependence between the different beings that inhabit the territory.
