Educação inclusiva para alunos com problemáticas graves: Estudo de caso numa escola do interior de Portugal

Abstract

Esta dissertação pretendeu investigar como funciona a educação inclusiva para alunos com problemáticas graves numa escola do interior de Portugal, procurando perceber como a inclusão destes alunos, e de outros, é realizada na escola, que medidas e estratégias são aplicadas, e de que forma é percebida pelos diversos intervenientes da comunidade escolar. Optou-se pelo método do estudo de caso, selecionando uma escola de pequena dimensão da zona interior de Portugal, composta por pouco menos de 500 alunos, sendo que 12 destes são abrangidos por medidas adicionais, e são considerados, para os efeitos de estudo, como alunos com problemáticas graves. A recolha de dados foi realizada através da aplicação de entrevistas semiestruturadas à diretora do agrupamento em que se insere a escola em estudo, técnicos especializados, diretores de turma e encarregados de educação. No âmbito desta dissertação de mestrado, realizou-se previamente uma análise documental sobre a história da educação inclusiva em geral e em Portugal, sobre a atual política educativa na promoção da educação inclusiva, sobre necessidades educativas específicas graves, sobre a inclusão de alunos com problemáticas graves no ensino regular, e sobre o papel dos diversos intervenientes na educação inclusiva. Depois da análise dos dados recolhidos, foi possível constatar que, não obstante o trabalho desenvolvido na escola em estudo, ainda existem algumas dificuldades e desafios a serem ultrapassados, para atingir uma educação realmente inclusiva.

This dissertation intended to investigate how inclusive education works for students with serious problems in a school in the interior of Portugal, looking to understand how the inclusion of this students and others is carried out in the school, which measures and strategies are applied, and how it is perceived by the various people from the school community. We opted for the case study method, selecting a small size school in the interior zone of Portugal, composed of a little less than 500 students, from which 12 are covered by additional measures, and are considered, for the purpose of this study, students with serious problems. The data collection was done by applying semi- structured interviews to the director of the group in which the school in study is inserted, specialized technicians, class directors and student guardians. Within the scope of this dissertation, a documented analysis was previously carried out regarding the history of inclusive education, both in general and in Portugal, the current education policy for the promotion of inclusive education, the serious specific educational needs, the inclusion of students with serious problems in regular education, and the role of different people in inclusive education. Upon analyzing the collected data, it was possible to verify that, despite the work developed in the school, there are still some hardships and challenges to be surpassed, to reach an education that is truly inclusive.
