Feira Anual de Cuba: Identidade e valorização cultural

Abstract

A presente dissertação procura compreender de que forma é que a Feira Anual de Cuba, um dos eventos mais aguardados pelos habitantes do concelho de Cuba, dinamiza a sua cultura, tal como o património cultural alentejano. Também se procura compreender a opinião dos habitantes do concelho e a forma como estes percecionam e valorizam o evento. Nesta dissertação dá-se destaque ao conceito de cultura popular e tradicional e de que forma este se relaciona com o tema da dissertação, devido às temáticas expostas no evento. Destaca-se também a forma como os territórios podem beneficiar da cultura e do património cultural, principalmente se estes se situarem no interior do país e apresentarem uma baixa densidade populacional. Aqui referem-se também as políticas públicas da cultura, de forma mais lata, uma vez que estas se relacionam com o contexto social, económico, político e cultural do tema aqui explorado. Faz-se menção à história da Feira Anual de Cuba, desde a sua criação em 1933 até 88ª edição do evento, em setembro de 2023. De forma a compreender de que modo é que este evento é percecionado e valorizado pelos habitantes do concelho foi também conduzido um inquérito. Assim, as conclusões apresentadas nesta dissertação são fundamentais através da pesquisa realizada, pelos resultados do inquérito conduzido, da análise da oferta cultural do município de Cuba, como também das experiências da autora enquanto visitante do evento.

This dissertation seeks to understand how the Annual Fair of Cuba, one of the most eagerly awaited events by the population of the municipality of Cuba, boosts its culture, as well as the cultural heritage of Alentejo. It also intents to understand the opinion of the inhabitants of the municipality and how they perceive and value the event. This dissertation focuses on the concept of popular and traditional culture and how it relates to the theme of the dissertation, due to the issues exposed at the event. It also highlights how territories can benefit from culture and cultural heritage, especially if they are situated in the interior of the country and have a low population density. Public cultural policies are also highlighted here, in the broader sense, as they relate to the social, economic, political and cultural context of the topic explored here. The history of the Annual Fair of Cuba is also highlighted, from its creation in 1933 to the 88th edition of the event in September 2023. In order to understand how this event is perceived and valued by the population of the municipality, a survey was also conducted. Therefore, the conclusions presented in this dissertation are based on the research, the results of the conducted survey, the analysis of the cultural offer of the municipality of Cuba, as well as the author’s experiences as a visitor to the event.
