Neste sentido, a nível europeu e
In recent decades the new information and communication technologies have assumed a central role in our daily lives, leading to a revolution in the fields of knowledge (Mateo, Poyato, & Servos, 2018) and contributing to new forms of social organization that led Castells (2002) to name the current society as a Network Society. At the same time, there is a progressive aging of the population, which appears, on the one hand, as a scientific achievement, on the other, as a challenge for modern societies (Rosa, 2012). In this sense, at European and national level, an investment has been made in public policies for the promotion of active and healthy aging, in which the new information and communication technologies are listed as a resource to ensure the well-being, safety and social inclusion of seniors. This research aims to explore the benefits of ageing in a networked society, namely to know the ways of relationship of seniors with ICT and how they contribute to the promotion of active, healthy and participatory ageing. For this purpose, we opted for the combination of quantitative-qualitative methodology supported by documentary analysis, statistical analysis of official data (2021 Census) and data analysis of a questionnaire survey applied to the trainees of the "Space Beyond Borders" initiative, computer training actions promoted by the Municipality of Mafra for the senior population, between March 2022 and May 2023. |
