semiestruturadas a cinco jovens músicos.
The world of independent music is not immune to the challenges present today. On the contrary. How are these musicians managing their careers, given the current socio-economic context, in particular, young people, one of the groups most affected by this crisis? The main objective of this work is to identify and understand the DIY (do-it-yourself) strategies used by these young musicians. In addition, it’s intended to analyze the beginning of their professional careers in this area and identify the physical spaces and general characteristics of the independent LMA (Lisbon Metropolitan Area) landscape. To meet these objectives, a qualitative approach was adopted and five semi-structured interviews were carried out with five young musicians. According to the results, we can verify the adoption of three sets of strategies: multiplication or unfolding, planning and collaboration. It was also possible to verify the embryonic presence of music in the lives of the participants and the lack of spaces in the LMA’s cities. This research enables a more frequent study and a greater monitoring of this population, whose elements have characteristics, needs and concerns that differs them from the other generations. |
