With the increase of bullying phenomenon it is essential to understand the way that victims deal with these episodes. The main purpose of this study was to understand the relationship between the Belief in a Just World (BJW) and the well-being of the bullying victims, testing coping strategies as mediator of this relation. To test this hypothesis, a sample of students victims of bullying (N=189) between 11 and 19 years old completed one questionnaire intended to measure the variables BJW, Coping and Well-Being. Overall, the results support the hypothesis that personal BJW is positively correlated with well-being of bullying victims. This relation is mediated by the coping strategy “assimilation of injustice”. We conclude that coping has a fundamental importance to preserve the Well-Being of bullying victims. |
