Abstract: The following text presents a reflection on the study being produced by the author about the Hanha population, one of the people included in the denominated Ovimbundu grouping, spread along rural and urban locations. This initial reflection is focused on the perception the Vahanha have about their poverty and wellbeing, from the period ranging from the Independence all the way through Peace and, since then, until the moment. Due to the sociological structure of the Hanha population, this reflection will be preceded by a brief historical retrospective about their socioeconomic existence.
