A reclusão narrada por mães: os significados de vivenciar a prisão e a maternidade

Abstract

A presente investigação tem como objetivo principal demonstrar como as mães reclusas que vivem com os filhos na Casa das Mães, localizada no Estabelecimento Prisional de Tires pensam e sentem a vida após os muros. No decorrer da pesquisa foi realizado um comparativo da realidade de mães reclusas em Portugal e em outros países. Foram apresentados os caminhos percorridos desde o primeiro contato para solicitar o acesso ao terreno até o momento de sua concretização, evidenciando os constrangimentos vivenciados pelo investigador antes e durante as visitas. Através de relatos, as entrevistadas contam parte de suas trajetórias pessoais, relações desenvolvidas, expressam seus sentimentos e percepções sobre o cumprimento da pena exercendo a maternidade e lidando com as suas demandas e de seus filhos. Os métodos utilizados para realizar as entrevistas foram: diário de campo, entrevistas semiestruturadas e análise dos dados. Foram inquiridas oito mulheres, com idades entre 26 e 43 anos. A pesquisa evidencia aspectos no cotidiano prisional, como a presença da rede de afinidades que pode existir intramuros e os aspectos positivos da permanência da criança junto com a mãe em abiente prisional. Além de dialogar com autores de referência na área, a pesquisa sugere mudanças e propõe reflexões acerca da terceirização de serviços relacionados a prisão, a presença da figura paterna (enquanto recluso) no cuidado com a criança e a relação de mães que viveram com os filhos na Casa das Mães após a conquista da liberdade.

The following investigation have at is main objective to show how mothers who are inmates and live with their own children in “mothers house” located in prisoner establishment in Tires think and feel life after being imprisoned. During the research a comparative was realised with other countries about inmate maternity reality. Since the beginning of this investigation there were many difficulties presented to the investigator, requesting the access to the prison, and afterwards when doing the visits. Trough the reports, the inmates told part of their stories, personal relations, and express their feelings and perceptions about the maternity and their child needs, associated to the fulfil of the sentence. The methods used in the interviews were: field diary, semi-structured interviews, data analysis. Eight women were inquired between the age of 26 and 43 years old. The research shows many aspects in the daily life of the inmates inside the walls, such as the network of relations inside the prison, and the benefits of the presence of the child near his mother in prison. Beside the dialogue of reference authors in this area, the research suggests changes and propose reflections about the outsourcing of jail services, the presence of the father figure (while inmate), in the caring of the child, and the relation of mothers who lived with their children in house of mothers, after achieved their liberty.
