Os movimentos sociais na luta contra a desinformação: um estudo sobre o trabalho do Sleeping Giants Brasil

Abstract

As notícias falsas, mais conhecidas como "fake news", têm sido uma realidade no mundo pósmoderno. Os boatos e fofocas políticas regrediram para informações com formato de notícia e "layout" jornalístico para serem disseminados em todas as redes sociais digitais. A ''notícia'' uma vez enviada, pode não vir a ser retornada. A informação falsa, uma vez dita, não consegue ser desmentida ou desfeita a sua influência, sobretudo na era digital, a todos que a receberam. A presente dissertação tentou compreender os motivos pelos quais os cidadãos, também inseridos nesse contexto digital, se juntam ao coletivo "Sleeping Giants Brasil" na luta contra a desinformação: Quais as expectativas e os anseios desse ''novo'' ativismo que exerce sua força no âmbito digital e tem alcançado mudanças sociais importantes no Brasil - e no mundo? Foi realizado um inquérito em que foram entrevistadas 218 pessoas de diversas idades, classes sociais, gêneros e ideologias políticas, buscando traçar relações que possam de alguma forma clarificar quem são as pessoas por trás das telas em um movimento social digital que vem desafiando o "modus" de fazer protesto.

Fake news, more advance as fake news, has been a reality in the postmodern world. Rumors and political gossip regressed to information in a news format and journalistic layout to be spread on all digital social networks. The ''news'' once channeled, may not be returned. False information, once said, cannot be disproved or its influence, especially in the digital age, to everyone who received it undone. This dissertation tried to understand the reasons why its citizens, also inserted in this digital context, join the Sleeping Giants Brazil collective in the fight against misinformation: What are the expectations and aspirations of this ''new' activism that exerts strength in the digital sphere and has important social changes in Brazil - and in the world? A survey was conducted in which 218 people of different ages, social classes, genders and political ideologies were interviewed, seeking to trace relationships that can somehow clarify who the people behind the screens are in a digital social movement that has been challenging the modus of protest.
