Arquitetura e mobiliário: o caso da Biblioteca Municipal de Grândola. Uma nova biblioteca para a Trafaria: um convite à leitura, ao estudo e ao convívio

Abstract

O presente estudo constitui uma reflexão acerca da relação entre o mobiliário, enquanto elemento integrante no pensamento do espaço arquitetónico, e o projeto de arquitetura, no contexto programático das bibliotecas. Questiona-se numa primeira instância a existência factual desta relação na extensão da teoria da arquitetura e a sua importância no contexto da prática projetual. O estudo da relação entre mobiliário e espaço arquitetónico tem como objeto de estudo a Biblioteca e Arquivo Municipal de Grândola (2012/2016- ), projeto do atelier Matos Gameiro Arquitectos. O estudo e aprofundamento deste projeto, de um atelier cuja relevância excede o contexto nacional, é tomado como uma oportunidade para explorar a relação entre mobiliário e espaço arquitetónico, procurando compreender o papel do mobiliário no processo de conceção do projeto de arquitetura na atualidade. Este trabalho conclui-se no confronto entre a reflexão teórica e a ação prática, no sentido em que esta Vertente Teórica de Projeto Final de Arquitetura informa e fundamenta a Vertente Prática, que consiste na conceção de uma nova biblioteca para a Trafaria.

This study is a reflection on the relationship between furniture, as an integral element in the thinking of architectural space, and architectural project, in the programmatic context of libraries. In a first instance, the factual existence of this relationship in the extension of architectural theory and its importance in the context of project practice is questioned. The study of the relationship between furniture and architectural space is premised on the study case of the Municipal Library and Archives of Grândola (2012/2016- ), a project of the atelier Matos Gameiro Arquitectos. The study and deepening of this project, of an atelier whose relevance exceeds the national context, is taken as an opportunity to explore the relationship between furniture and architectural space, seeking to understand the role of furniture in the design process of architecture today. This work is concluded with the confrontation between theoretical reflection and practical action, in the sense that this Theoretical Component of the Final Project of Architecture informs and bases the Practical Component, which consists in the conception of a new library for Trafaria.
