Luz natural na arquitetura e na dança

Abstract

A vertente teórica de Projeto Final de Arquitetura procura expor a importância do cruzamento entre a Arquitetura e a Dança, tomando como intermediários a luz arquitetónica e a influência da mesma no movimento da dança. Este inicia-se com a Lux, unidade de medida da luminância, onde são apresentados conceitos fundamentais sobre a parte mais técnica. Passa-se por uma breve abordagem da luz natural no século XX que concentra os três arquitetos do quadro conceptual de ideias do presente ensaio – Le Corbusier, Luis Barragán e Tadao Ando. Selecionados devido à valorização da luz natural e por a considerarem um material de construção, são a base de desenvolvimento de estratégias de iluminação. Para além destes, surgem nomes como Alberto Baeza, Louis Kahn, Herzog & De Meuron, entre outros fundamentais no suporte da ideia e tema desenvolvido. Analisam-se coreógrafos e métodos, como o de Rudolf Laban, Marta Graham, Merce Cunningham e Oskar Schlemmer, cujas carreiras se basearam em investigar e testar o movimento do corpo consoante o espaço. Percebeu-se que a influência da luz natural no movimento do corpo é fundamental, através de artigos analisados e entrevistas realizadas a coreógrafos e bailarinos, que foram bastante conclusivas quanto ao tema. Por fim, como apoio, não só para o presente ensaio, mas também para as entrevistas, foram selecionados quatro casos de estudo, dois nacionais e dois internacionais – Escola de Dança do Conservatório Nacional, Jazzy Dance Studios Santos, Laban Dance Centre e Scottish Ballet – que permitiram entender a influência do modo de construção, nomeadamente das entradas de luz, no bem-estar dos visitantes.

The theoretical work of Final Architecture Project focuses in the importance of the intersection between Architecture and Dance, taking the architectural light and its influence on the dance movement as intermediaries. It begins with Lux, the luminance unit of measure, where are presented fundamental concepts about the technical part. It goes through a brief approach of natural light in the 20th century that includes the three architects of the conceptual ideas board of this essay – Le Corbusier, Luis Barragán e Tadao Ando. Selected due to their valorization of natural light and their idea of considering it as a construction material, they are the base of development for the illumination strategies. Besides these three architects, other names as Alberto Baeza, Louis Kahn, Herzog & De Meuron, as others, by their fundamental supports of the idea and developed theme, also appears. Choreographers and their methods are analyzed, as Rudolf Laban, Marta Graham, Merce Cunningham and Oskar Schlemmer, whose careers were based on the investigation and testing of the body movement depending on the space. It was perceived that the influence of natural light on the body movement was fundamental, through analyzed articles and realized interviews with choreographers and dancers, which were very conclusive. Lastly, as support, not only to the present essay, but to the interviews as well, were selected four study cases, two of them are national and the others international – Dance School of the National Conservatory, Jazzy Dance Studios, Laban Dance Center and Scottish Ballet – that allowed to understand the influence of the construction model, light inputs particularly, on the welfare of visitors.
