Dois meses depois do carnaval: Narrativas históricas na folia carioca

Abstract

O presente estudo analisa o Carnaval enquanto uma manifestação da cultura sujeita à influência das narrativas históricas que determinam a concepção identitária do Brasil no imaginário coletivo. A partir da análise estética e discursiva do desfile da Imperatriz Leopoldinense do ano 2000, a pesquisa tem como objetivo compreender a forma como uma manifestação popular como o Carnaval perpetua as narrativas de uma História Oficial, em oposição à sua vocação primordial de subversão das concepções estabelecidas.

This study analyzes the Carnival as a manifestation of culture subject to the influence of historical narratives that are responsible for determining the conception of identity presente in the collective imagination of Brazil. By analyzing the aesthetics and the discourse of the parade presented by Imperatriz Leopoldinense at the year 2000, this research aims to understand the capacity of Carnival to perpetuate narratives of official history in opposition to its primordial vocation of subversion of established conceptions.
