No entanto existem diferenças
Expatriation is increasingly seen as an organizational strategy, strived by professionals that seek an international experience, skills development and new career perspectives. The focal point of the present investigation will relate to the expatriation process, and how it is seen by the expatriate, in a specific organization (IKEA). Trying to understand the role of the human resources and if they acted as facilitators. To this end, the present investigation will use the qualitative methodology, making use of individual interviews to identified expatriates and their respective HR managers. Result analysis will be made considering four identified subgroups and the analysis dimension: motivation, recruitment and selection, training, language, cultural adjustment, work-life balance and organizational support. It can be concluded that all the participants positively assessed their international mobitities and showed interest in repeat the experience. However, there are significant differences in the organizational support given before and after the new mobility approach. This approach brought a better definition and distinction of the different types of mobility and more equality. The relation between Portugal and France is due to the emotional relation and to the mobility of one of the participants. |
