Práticas e diálogos cruzados da psiquiatria transcultural e a população refugiada: trechos etnográficos

Abstract

Esta dissertação teve como objetivo compreender as noções epistemológicas e práticas de um serviço de psiquiatria transcultural, cuja consulta é dirigida aos requerentes de asilo e refugiados, na zona de Lisboa. Hoje em dia observamos uma crescente necessidade de qualificar os serviços dirigidos a indivíduos com estatuto de refugiado. Estes trazem muitas vezes histórias de sofrimento de contornos específicos e não encontram um profissional munido de ferramentas e técnicas terapêuticas especializadas. Deste modo, encontramos em Portugal uma prática ainda muito rudimentar, em parte justificada por uma falta de saberes teóricos, que merece ser reavaliada e discutida. Assim, as problemáticas desta dissertação erigem-se sobre a psiquiatria transcultural, esta que se apresenta como disciplina predileta na condução e avaliação dos casos clínicos da população refugiada. Em termos práticos, o terreno eleito para indagar estas questões foi o Serviço de Psiquiatria Geral e Transcultural no CHPL. Estruturando-se através de uma etnografia, procurou descrever-se o ambiente laboral destes profissionais de saúde, a fim de delatar dinâmicas inerentes à prática e assim deitar luz sobre a forma de conduzir esta clínica, quais as características especificas do atendimento, quais as competências dos profissionais e também, compreender a vasta incorporação e expressão díspar dos significantes de corpo, saúde, doença, transformam o ambiente terapêutico.

This dissertation aimed to understand the epistemological and practical notions of a transcultural psychiatry service, whose consultation is addressed to asylum seekers and refugees in the Lisbon area. Nowadays we see an increasing need to qualify services aimed at individuals with refugee status. They often bring suffering stories with specific contours and do not find a professional dotted with specialized therapeutic tools and techniques. In this way, we find in Portugal a still very rudimentary practice, partly justified by a lack of theoretical knowledge, which deserves to be analysed and discussed. Thus, the problematics of this dissertation are based on the epistemology and practice of transcultural psychiatry, which presents itself as the favorite discipline in the conduction and evaluation of the clinical cases of the refugee population. In practical terms, the field chosen to ask these questions was the General and Transcultural Psychiatry Service at CHPL. Structuring through an ethnography, we tried to describe the work environment of these health professionals, in order to delineate dynamics inherent to the practice and thus shed light on how to conduct this clinic, what specific characteristics of care, what the professionals' and also to understand the vast incorporation and different expression of the signifiers of body, health, disease, transform the therapeutic environment.
