Sou vítima, pareço-te menos atraente?: a crença no mundo justo e a desvalorização das vítimas do endogrupo

Abstract

O presente estudo tem como objetivo explorar o impacto sobre a perceção e julgamento social de pessoas de que se tem conhecimento que foram vítimas de violência no namoro. Nos últimos anos tem havido uma evolução no estudo da violência no namoro, com o objetivo de caracterizar e compreender este fenómeno. Para compreender este fenómeno tem que se ter em consideração a necessidade que o indivíduo tem para acreditar que o mundo é justo, ou seja, que cada um de nós tem o que merece e nada mais (Lerner, 1980). Considerando não se conhecer a relação entre a mulher ser ou não uma vítima e a atratividade, é importante perceber de que modo o conhecimento prévio que temos de que uma mulher foi vítima de violência no namoro pode afetar a perceção que possamos ter dela. O método usado para recolha de dados foi o instrumento em E-prime, com duas condições - a vítima e a não vítima. Os dados foram recolhidos no LAPSO, com um total de 73 participantes, sendo grande parte por conveniência, questionando-se no final sobre qual o objetivo do estudo. A felicidade, a semelhança e a atratividade foram medidas como variáveis dependentes. Para se analisar as diferenças de julgamentos entre as condições, realizou-se um "teste t" para amostras independentes. Verificou-se que não existiram diferenças entre condições no julgamento da atratividade. Diferentes razões contribuíram para este resultado, como a falta de identificação social, entre outros.

The present study aims to explore the impact on the perception and social judgment of people that we know they have been victims of violence in the dating relationship. In recent years there has been an evolution in the study of violence in the dating relationships, with the objective of characterizing and understanding this phenomenon. To understand this phenomenon one has to take into account the individual's need to believe that the world is fair, that is, each of us has what it deserves and nothing else (Lerner, 1980). Considering that we do not know the relation between a woman be a victim or a non-victim and attractiveness, it is important to realize how the prior knowledge that we have that she was a victim of dating relationship violence can affect the perception we may have of her. The method used for data collection was the E-prime instrument, with two conditions - the victim and the non-victim. The data were collected in the LAPSO, with a total of 73 participants, a great part for convenience, questioned at the end about the purpose of the study. Happiness, similarity and attractiveness were measured as dependent variables. In order to analyze the difference of judgments between the conditions, a t-test was performed for independent samples. It was found that there were no differences between conditions in the judgment of attractiveness. Different reasons contributed to this result, such as the lack of social identification.
