Novos Possíveis: Estratégias Identitárias de Mulheres Oriundas da Guiné-Bissau em Portugal

Abstract

O objectivo da pesquisa foi contribuir para a compreensão da especificidade da componente feminina do fenómeno imigratório em Portugal, especificamente das mulheres oriundas da Guiné-Bissau, e compreender de que modo dimensões sociais e culturais da etnicidade se cruzam e concorrem na (re)construção da identidade, considerando as condicionantes estruturais, a par da acção individual, da sociedade de origem e da de acolhimento, e que interferem no poder estratégico dessas mulheres.

The main goal of the research was to contribute for the understanding of the female component of the immigration phenomena in Portugal, especially concerning women from Guinea Bissau, and to understand in which way social and cultural dimensions intersect each other and contribute for the identity (re)construction processes, considering the individual action and the structural conditions, both in the origin and hosting society, which interferes in the strategic power of those women.
