“Hay otro mundo y está dentro de éste”. Ciudades y pertenencia en el movimiento de los Focolares

Abstract

El texto indaga las formas de producción de sentido, la expansión geográfica y la continuidad del Movimiento de los Focolares, principalmente en Argentina e Italia. En particular se centra en dos ciudades del grupo religioso que pueden pensarse como articulación entre la estructura y organización del movimiento eclesial y al mismo tiempo como lugares de proyección utópica en la búsqueda de la santidad. La perspectiva analítica entiende a la familia y a la comunidad como principales agentes de socialización religiosa y a la participación efectiva de las actividades propuestas por el grupo como reconocimiento de pertenencia. La metodologia utilizada fue cualitativa a través de un trabajo etnográfico con estancias en las “ciudadelas” analizadas y entrevistas en profundidad a miembros activos del movimiento. Los principales resultados reflexionan sobre nuevas geografías de sentido atravesadas por lo religioso en este grupo que mantiene un enfoque holístico para sus miembros.

The text investigates the forms of production of meaning, geographical expansion and continuity of the Focolare Movement, mainly in Argentina and Italy. In particular, it focuses on two cities of the religious group that can be thought of as an articulation between the structure and organization of the ecclesial movement and at the same time as places of utopian projection in the pursuit of holiness. The analytical perspective understands the family and the community as main agents of religious socialization and to the effective participation of the activities proposed by the group as recognition of belonging. The methodology used was qualitative through an ethnographic work with stays in the "citadels" analyzed and in-depth interviews with active members of the movement. The main results reflect on new geographies of meaning crossed by the religious in this group that maintains a holistic approach for its members.
