O contributo do voluntariado para o bem-estar dos idosos: Estudo de casos

Abstract

Pretende-se com este estudo conhecer o contributo que o Coração Amarelo, enquanto Instituição Particular de Solidariedade Social, tem para o bem-estar dos seus utentes, enquanto parte integrante do conjunto das redes de interacção social nas quais este se insere. Objectiva-se analisar a importância do voluntariado na vida do idoso, tendo em conta, as transformações nas redes de solidariedade primárias características da sociedade moderna. O trabalho de campo foi desenvolvido na delegação de Lisboa da Associação Coração Amarelo, através de observação participante e da realização de entrevistas a doze utentes da instituição. A pesquisa realizada permitiu compreender que o Coração Amarelo é uma importante fonte de companhia social e apoio emocional, contribuindo para a estabilidade dos seus utentes, em complementaridade para com o conjunto de relações pessoais dos indivíduos, protagonizadas por diferentes agentes, como a família os amigos e até mesmo os vizinhos.

This study has the intention to analyze which contribute the Coração Amarelo, while Particular Institution of Social Solidarity, provide for the well-being of his users, while integrant part of the set of the nets of social interaction of the elder people. The objective is to explore the importance of the volunteers in the life of the old one, in the context of the transformations in the primary nets of solidarity, characteristics of the modern society. The work of field was developed in the delegation of Lisbon of the Coração Amarelo, through participant observation, and by interviewing twelve of the users of the institution. Through the research it was possible to understand that Coração Amarelo is an important source of social company and emotional support, contributing to the stability of the elderly, in complement with the set of personal relations of the individuals, carried out by different agents, such as the family the friends and even the neighbors.
