O MFA e os movimentos nacionalistas angolanos: do 25 de Abril à independência

Abstract

Ao longo deste trabalho pretende-se analisar a relação entre o Movimento das Forças Armadas (MFA) e os movimentos nacionalistas angolanos, procurando-se determinar de que modo foram estabelecidos os contactos, como evoluiu a relação entre as diferentes partes e se o MFA assumiu uma atitude imparcial face aos três movimentos. Pretende-se ainda compreender a posição do MFA relativamente ao passado colaboracionista da UNITA, as divisões no seio do MPLA, o surgimento de organizações políticas no pós-25 de Abril em Angola, as intervenções externas a favor dos diferentes movimentos bem como discernir a forma como a articulação entre o MFA local e o MFA global evoluiu e influenciou o processo de descolonização.

This thesis intends to analyze the relation established between the ‘Armed Forces Movement’ (Movimento das Forças Armadas, or MFA) and the Angolan nationalist movements, seeking to determine how contacts began, how the relation between the different parts evolved and whether or not the MFA was impartial towards the three movements. Other objectives are to determine MFA’s perspective of UNITA’s collaborationist past, its attitude towards MPLA’s divisions, the emergence of numerous political formations in Angola after the fall of the Estado Novo dictatorship, the foreign interventions in support of the various movements as well as to discern how the relation between the local MFA and the global MFA evolved and influenced the process of decolonization.
