Abstract: | This paper examines the individual and contextual variables which predict presenteeism and
productivity among the employees in public hospitals in China. Relations between perceived
supervisor support and performance, health status, SPS6 and objective presenteeism are
evaluated. Impacts of ethical climate as well as conscientiousness on SPS6 are analyzed.
Responses collected from the employees using Qualtrics survey platform are used with the
regression analysis by SPSS predictive analytics software, which is used to find relationships
among the considered variables. The sample consists of 133 employees with mean age of
39.99 years from public hospitals. Our results indicate that, perceived supervisor support
improves employees’ performance and health status whereas it decreases objective
presenteeism in organizations. It also influences SPS6 in the public hospitals in China.
Furthermore, conscientiousness and benevolent ethical climate have a positive correlation
with SPS6. All these variables should be considered by supervisors in the organizations which
are intended to improve individual performance and productivity Esta tese estuda as variáveis individuais e contextuais enquanto antecedentes de presentismo e produtividade entre funcionários de hospitais públicos na China. Ao longo do presente trabalho são estudadas as relações entre a perceção de apoio do supervisor e desempenho, estado de saúde, SPS6 e presentismo objetivo. São ainda analisados os impactos do clima ético, bem como a consciencialização sobre SPS6 . As respostas foram recolhidas por intermédio da plataforma Qualtrics. A partir de hospitais públicos, a amostra obtida é composta por 133 funcionários com idade média de 39.99 anos. Os resultados indicam que o apoio percebido do supervisor melhora o desempenho e o estado de saúde dos funcionários enquanto diminui o presentismo objetivo nas organizações. Além disso, a consciência e o clima ético benevolente têm uma correlação positiva com SPS6 . Todas estas variáveis devem ser considerado pelos supervisores no sentido de melhorar o desempenho e produtividade dos indivíduos. |
