Imprensa desportiva: uma análise comparativa entre Portugal, Espanha e Itália

Abstract

A presente dissertação procura esclarecer que tipo de imprensa desportiva existe em Portugal, bem como se a mesma apresenta diferenças ou semelhanças face à existente, em Espanha e Itália. Para realizar esta investigação efectuou-se uma análise comparativa entre os três países na qual foram descritos e caracterizados 18 órgãos diários desportivos de expressão nacional, seis em cada país, constando apenas os jornais diários desportivos impressos com suporte on-line e jornais diários desportivos digitais. Devido à centralidade que o futebol ocupa nas sociedades actuais dos países analisados, bem como a crescente popularização da modalidade ao longo dos anos, afirma-se que o desporto mantém uma relação muito forte com os órgãos de comunicação. Desta forma é realizada uma abordagem história aos primórdios da imprensa desportiva na Europa e em Portugal, destacando a sua génese e difusão. Existe ainda um particular ênfase para a temática da Internet uma vez que também foram analisados os suportes on-line das publicações. Desta forma, para além de alguns apontamentos históricos sobre a web, é ainda evidenciado o panorama actual de Portugal no que diz respeito ao uso e integração da plataforma digital na sociedade portuguesa, bem como a sua relação com os órgãos de comunicação portugueses. A investigação concluiu que apesar das diversas diferenças observadas entre os jornais, nas quais se destacam os valores de tiragem e circulação, os desportivos apresentam como principais pontos comuns o facto da maior parte dos seus conteúdos assentarem no futebol e o facto de todos estarem presentes na Internet.

This dissertation seeks to clarify what type of sports press exists in Portugal, and whether it shows differences or similarities to that which exists in Spain and Italy. To conduct this research a comparative analysis as been made between the three countries, where there were described and characterized 18 sports newspapers of national expression, six in each country, and in which will only appear the printed sports newspapers with online support and the online sports newspapers. Given the centrality that football occupies on the current societies of the countries examined, as well as the increasing popularization of the sport over the years, it is stated that the sport maintains a very strong relationship with the media. Thus it held an approach to the early history of sports media in Europe and in Portugal, highlighting its origins and dissemination. There is a particular emphasis on themes of the Internet because the media were also analyzed on-line publications. Thus, in addition to some historical notes on the web, is still highlighted the current landscape of Portugal regarding the use and integration of the digital platform in the Portuguese society, as well as their relationship with the Portuguese media. The research concluded that despite the various differences between the newspapers, which highlight for the numbers of circulation and movement, the sports newspapers have as main common points their contents, which are settled on football and the fact that all are present on the Internet.
