Um olhar positivo sobre a inserção de jovens imigrantes no tecido social e escolar português: o caso dos filhos da segunda geração de imigrantes cabo-verdianos

Abstract

Este trabalho pretende analisar a conjuntura da problemática escolar dos filhos da segunda geração de imigrantes cabo-verdianos na perspectiva de poder contribuir de algum modo para a sua resolução. Sabendo que se torna cada vez mais notório um relativo distanciamento entre escola e a comunidade cabo-verdiana e vice-versa, ainda existem bravos exemplos de alunos que conseguiram ultrapassar as dificuldades, construindo assim a fórmula do sucesso escolar. Este trabalho pretende com isso mostrar que existem casos que podem ser espelhados. A educação e a formação dos filhos da segunda geração de imigrantes constituem elementos indispensáveis à sua inserção na sociedade dominante, podendo constatar que à medida que o nível de educação se reduz, mais difícil se torna a sua integração socio-profissional. É para esse âmbito que direcciono o meu tema porquanto a educação constitui efectivamente um factor proeminente a levar em consideração na integração dos descendentes dos imigrantes.

The aim of this work is toanalyze the problematic situation of school children of the second generation of Cape Verdean immigrants in the prospect of being able to contribute in some way to its resolution. Knowing that becomes increasingly apparent a relative distance between the school and the Cape Verdean community and vice versa, there are still brave examples of students who have overcome the difficulties, thus building the formula for success in school. This work, also, intends to show that there are cases that can be mirrored. The education and training of children of second-generation immigrants are indispensable elements for their insertion in the dominant society, may find that as the level of education reduces the harder it becomes their socio-professional integration. It is to this context that I focus my theme because education is indeed a prominent factor to take into account the integration of descendants of immigrants.
