Insuficiência renal crónica: o impacte da doença no indivíduo e a intervenção do serviço social em contexto hospitalar

Abstract

Insuficiência Renal Crónica: O impacte da doença no individuo e a intervenção do Serviço Social em contexto hospitalar, constitui o tema da presente dissertação de mestrado em serviço social. A presente investigação resulta de um estudo e análise acerca do impacte da insuficiência renal crónica no individuo e no seu sistema familiar em que, as consequências vão além da dimensão clínica, atingindo o individuo e a família no seu todo, sendo necessário o individuo encontrar mecanismos que, possibilitam uma superação dos obstáculos que permitirão uma melhor adaptação à vida em hemodiálise/DPCA e ainda, a compreensão e analise da intervenção do serviço social em contexto hospitalar. Para concretizar o estudo optou-se por uma metodologia qualitativa, utilizando uma abordagem indutiva e recorreu-se a entrevistas semiestruturadas para recolha de dados. A população do estudo foi composta por doentes com insuficiência renal crónica que realizaram o transplante renal nos últimos dez anos, sendo aplicado doze entrevistas. Através das técnicas de análise de conteúdo foi possível analisar a informação recolhida nas entrevistas, que conduziu às conclusões apresentadas no final da presente dissertação. Como complemento à presente investigação, foi aplicado um inquérito por questionário aos doentes em programa de hemodiálise, diálise peritoneal continua ambulatória e ainda, doentes que realizaram o transplante renal nos últimos dez anos, em que, o objetivo da aplicação deste inquérito por questionário consiste na caraterização sociodemográfica dos doentes com esta patologia pertencentes ao Hospital do Divino Espirito Santo de Ponta Delgada.

Chronic Renal Disease: The impact of the disease on the individual and the Social Service intervention in the context of medical center is the main theme of the actual master dissertation on Social Service. This investigation is the result of a study and analysis on the impact of chronic renal failure on the individual and on the his/her family system, where consequences go beyond the clinical dimension, reaching both the individual and the family as a whole, making it necessary for the individual to find mechanisms that will allow him/her to overcome the obstacles, in order to achieve a better adaptation to life in hemodialysis and continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis This investigation also allows the comprehension and analysis of the intervention of the Social Service in the context of the medical center. To accomplish this study, we chose a qualitative methodology, using an inductive approach, and used semi-structured interviews to collect data. The population of the study is composed by patients with chronic renal disease who had a renal transplant in the last ten years, having been applied twelve interviews. Through content analysis it was possible to analyze the information collected in the interviews, which drove us to the conclusions presented at the end of the actual dissertation. As a complement to this investigation, we applied a survey by questionnaire to the patients submitted to the hemodialysis program, to the continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis, and to the patients who had renal transplants in the last ten years, in which the purpose of the application of this inquiry by questionnaire consists on the sociodemographic characterization of the patients with this pathology, who attend the Hospital do Divino Espírito Santo in Ponta Delgada.
