O trabalhador temporário: Trajectória de vida e perfil

Abstract

O mercado de emprego tem vindo a sofrer mutações em Portugal. O crescimento das novas formas de emprego flexível, como o trabalho temporário, tem sido exponencial ao longo dos anos. Tendo a noção de que o emprego para toda a vida se torna cada vez mais raro e com a taxa de desemprego a aumentar, importa analisar e focar a atenção neste modo de contratação de colaboradores, que se tem tornado cada vez mais um acto corrente de gestão dos recursos humanos nas empresas. Este trabalho terá a sua incidência numa das três partes que contemplam a celebração de um contrato de trabalho temporário: o trabalhador temporário. Este estudo pretende perceber os motivos que conduzem os indivíduos para o trabalho temporário e terá como objectivo traçar diferentes perfis do trabalhador temporário. Com esse fim, foi realizado um estudo qualitativo em que foram entrevistad os vinte trabalhadores com contrato de trabalho temporário. A investigação compreendeu o levantamento e análise de aspectos das entrevistas relacionados com a história de vida dos indivíduos, tendo sido utilizada a Análise de Conteúdo. Deste modo, conseguiu-se a construção das trajectórias de vida dos inquiridos através da realização de Biográficos. Após essas análises verificaram-se diferentes trajectórias de vida dos inquiridos e diversos motivos, pessoais ou profissionais, que os encaminharam para o trabalho temporário. Foram ainda identificados e construídos perfis de trabalhadores temporários através das entrevistas realizadas neste estudo.

The market labour has been going through changes in Portugal, for the last few years. The increase of the new forms of flexible jobs, such as the temporary job, has been exponential throughout the years. Bearing in mind that a job for life has become rarer and that the unemployment rate keeps increasing, it’s important to analyze and to focus our attention on this type of hiring collaborators, which is becoming more and more a common act of managing human resources at companies. One of the goals of this thesis will be to approach one of the three parts that contemplates celebrating a contract of temporary work: the temporary worker. Another goal is, also, to understand the motives that have such a huge impact on people to accept a temporary job, as well as defining different profiles of this type of worker. To that end, we made a qualitative study in which we interviewed twenty workers with a contract of temporary work. In this investigation, we identified and analyzed interview aspects about the life history of these individuals by using the Analysis of Content. Thus, we created life courses for each of them, having used Biographics. Prior to these analyses, we verified different life courses of the interviewed persons and different causes that have impelled them for temporary work. We have also identified and created profiles of temporary workers by resorting to the interviews made for this study.
