dc.description.abstract | Practices of Social Work in mental health – Repercussions of bipolar disorder on daily life of patients is the subject of this Master’s Thesis in Social Work. This research focuses on the study and analysis of bipolar disorder as a pathology whose consequences involve mood disturbance and seeks to understand their repercussions in the daily life of bipolar patients as well as the role of Social Work in monitoring these patients. In this work, it was used a qualitative methodology, applying the phenomenological method guided by an inductive approach, and privileged semistructured interviews of bipolar patients associates of ADEB, as well as an in depth interview with the President of the Association, and the data further processed through content analysis. In terms of results, we have concluded that bipolar disorder causes repercussions on the daily lives of patients, that it is triggered from a traumatic situation that requires adjustments in the patients' lives after its diagnosis. It was also possible to realize that heredity is one of the major causes of bipolar disorder. | por |
