A Cooperação Portuguesa em São Tomé e Príncipe

Abstract

A intervenção da Cooperação Portuguesa (CP) em STP é desenvolvida através de Programas Indicativos de Cooperação (PIC), a qual tem procurado conjugar as necessidades e estratégias de desenvolvimento de STP, consubstanciado nas orientações e objectivos da Estratégia Nacional de Redução da Pobreza (ENRP), com as prioridades estabelecidas pelo Governo português relativamente à sua política de cooperação. Ao longo de 2012, será elaborado um novo PIC, o qual irá, por um lado, continuar a apostar nas áreas onde Portugal tem claras vantagens comparativas, Educação e Saúde, as quais são sectores chave para o desenvolvimento de STP. Por outro lado, irá apostar em novas áreas de intervenção, nomeadamente, na Capacitação Científica e Tecnológica e no Empreendedorismo e Desenvolvimento Empresarial.

The intervention of the Portuguese Cooperation in STP, operationalized through the Indicative Cooperation Programs (PIC), has sought to combine the needs and development strategies of STP, embodied in the guidelines and objectives of the National Strategy for Poverty Reduction (ENRP), with the priorities established by the Portuguese Government on its policy of cooperation. Throughout 2012, a new PIC will be prepared, which will continue to invest in areas where Portugal has clear comparative advantages, Education and Health, which are key sectors for the development of STP. On the other hand, the new PIC will also invest in new areas, particularly on Scientific and Technological Training and in Entrepreneurship and Business Development.
