As cidades são feitas de migrações: Entrevista com Graça Índias Cordeiro

Abstract

Graça Índias Cordeiro é professora no Iscte - Instituto Universitário de Lisboa e investigadora do Cies-Iscte. Com longa experiência de ensino e investigação em antropologia urbana e etnografia, Lisboa tem sido um dos seus principais terrenos de pesquisa e, mais recentemente, a área de Boston onde tem analisado os sentidos e metamorfoses locais do label “Português”. Atualmente desenvolve pesquisa colaborativa com Giuseppe Formato sobre a diáspora açoriana na Nova Inglaterra, e integra o projeto EXPORT- Exporting Portugal: Estado Novo Cultural Diplomacy and Rebranding Strategies in the United States, 1933-1974, ICS/FCT, (2025-27).

Graça Índias Cordeiro is Professor at Iscte – University Institute of Lisbon and a researcher at CIES-Iscte. With extensive experience in teaching and research in urban anthropology and ethnography, Lisbon has been one of her primary fieldsites, and more recently the Boston area, where she has examined the local meanings and transformations of the label “Portuguese.” She is currently engaged in collaborative research with Giuseppe Formato on the Azorean diaspora in New England and is a member of the project EXPORT – Exporting Portugal: Estado Novo Cultural Diplomacy and Rebranding Strategies in the United States, 1933–1974 (ICS/FCT, 2025–27).
