Psilocibina; xamanismo e ciência experimental: Perspectivas sobre o uso tradicional mazateca e as abordagens científicas ocidentais

Abstract

Esta dissertação tem como foco de investigação a influência da psilocibina no sentimento de conexão e aproximação dos humanos à natureza, considerando as variáveis contextuais que moldam essa interação. O estudo sustenta-se num quadro teórico centrado nos psicadélicos serotonérgicos, conhecidos na literatura como psicadélicos clássicos, procurando responder à pergunta de investigação: "De que forma a psilocibina pode mediar a relação dos indivíduos com a natureza e estimular comportamentos pró-ambientais, e em que medida essa mediação é influenciada pelo contexto?" Esta investigação sustenta-se em dois contextos específicos, que compara: as narrativas de conexão com a natureza, na literatura científica, derivadas da ingestão de psilocibina, e o uso de psilocibina no México, pelo povo Mazateca, na Sierra Madre de Oaxaca, em rituais xamânicos. O trabalho incide sobre a hipótese de identificar se os efeitos do consumo da molécula dependem apenas das características farmacológicas ou são moldados por propriedades contextuais, como o “set” e o “setting”. Para uma abordagem completa e estruturada, são consideradas as ontologias da natureza, a subjetividade da linguagem, o profundo conhecimento xamânico das estruturas do mundo e outras áreas convergentes que permitem cruzamentos conceptuais relevantes.

This dissertation focuses on the investigation of the influence of psilocybin on the feeling of connection and closeness of humans to nature, considering the contextual variables that shape this interaction. The study is based on a theoretical framework centered on serotonergic psychedelics, known in the literature as classical psychedelics, seeking to answer the research question: "How can psilocybin mediate the relationship of individuals with nature and stimulate pro-environmental behaviors, and to what extent is this mediation influenced by the context?" This research is supported in two specific contexts, which it compares: the narratives of connection with nature in the scientific literature derived from the ingestion of psilocybin, and the use of psilocybin in Mexico by the Mazatec people in the Sierra Madre de Oaxaca, in shamanic rituals. The work focuses on the hypothesis of identifying whether the effects of the molecule's consumption depend only on pharmacological characteristics or are shaped by contextual properties, such as the "set" and "setting". For a comprehensive and structured approach, the ontologies of nature, the subjectivity of language, the profound shamanic knowledge of the world's structures, and other converging areas that allow for relevant conceptual cross-linkages are considered.
