O (over)sharenting nas plataformas digitais e as representações dos pais sobre a partilha nas redes sociais online de informações sobre as crianças

Abstract

Deparando-nos com um mundo altamente tecnológico, as redes sociais online têm vindo a fazer, cada vez mais, parte do nosso quotidiano, contudo, quando é excessivo pode expor problemas para a vida do ser humano. Sendo assim, destacando esta excessividade, apresenta-se o termo (Over)Sharenting, isto é, a partilha excessiva de informações pessoais das crianças por parte dos pais nas redes sociais online, o que, consequentemente, pode prejudicar a vida das crianças. Tendo como base este termo, o tema escolhido para desenvolvimento é o (Over)Sharenting nas Plataformas Digitais e as Representações dos Pais sobre a Partilha nas Redes Sociais Online de Informações sobre as Crianças, onde o objetivo é a investigação das várias perceções dos pais em relação à partilha online de informações que fazem sobre as crianças, no Instagram, e os fatores que influenciam esta prática. Para tal, procedeu-se à concretização de entrevistas, e, através da aplicação do método Social Media Scroll Back, analisou-se os perfis de Instagram dos entrevistados através das várias publicações sobre as crianças, permitindo identificar padrões, tendências, comportamentos e motivações dos pais em relação ao (Over)Sharenting. Os resultados contribuem para um melhor entendimento desta prática, permitindo responder às várias questões de pesquisa, assim como uma reflexão sobre a privacidade, o consentimento e a literacia digital.

Faced with a highly technological world, online social networks have increasingly become part of our daily lives, but when it's excessive, it can cause problems in human life. This excessive sharing has led to the term (Over)Sharenting, i.e. the excessive sharing of children's personal information by parents on online social networks, which consequently can harm children's lives. Based on this term, the topic chosen for development is (Over)Sharenting on Digital Platforms and Parents' Representations of Sharing Information about Children on Online Social Networks, where the aim is to investigate the various perceptions of parents in relation to sharing information about children online on Instagram and the factors that influence this practice. For this purpose, interviews were conducted and, using the Social Media Scroll Back method, the interviewees' Instagram profiles were analyzed through the various posts about their children, allowing us to identify patterns, trends, behaviors and motivations of parents in relation to (Over)Sharenting. The results contribute to a better understanding of this practice, allowing us to answer the various research questions, as well as reflecting on privacy, consent and digital literacy.
