Nos bastidores do acolhimento: Imigrantes e refugiados em cena

Abstract

O presente trabalho é composto de duas partes complementares: a dissertação e o documentário “NOS BASTIDORES DE UNE HISTOIRE BIZARRE”, que se encontra nestes links: https://youtu.be/-_xnJ6WBO4k ou https://youtu.be/JhfPw6ubdRo Este filme e dissertação pretendem evidenciar as vantagens dos projetos teatrais enquanto instrumento para um melhor acolhimento de imigrantes e refugiados em Portugal. Procurei mostrar que cuidados e preocupações tive na execução do documentário e em como respeitar e dignificar os participantes. Ao longo de mais de 12 meses acompanhei o desenvolvimento do projeto teatral “Une Histoire Bizarre” enquanto realizador do documentário sobre esta iniciativa, onde procurei identificar o impacto dos ensaios e espetáculos na vida dos seus participantes e os vários problemas que este grupo de pessoas enfrenta na adaptação ao chegar a Portugal. Com base no acompanhamento do grupo, no registo de imagens e nas entrevistas, concluí que este projeto teve um impacto muito positivo na vida dos participantes. O “Une Histoire Bizarre” facilitou o contacto com a comunidade portuguesa e vice-versa, criando uma rede de interajuda entre os envolvidos. Além disso, através dos ensaios e espetáculos, foi possível estabelecer um espaço seguro e de confiança, onde os beneficiários puderam partilhar as suas histórias e cultura. Esta iniciativa também proporcionou uma oportunidade de aprendizagem de técnicas teatrais, promovendo a expressão e a autoestima dos participantes, ao mesmo tempo em que incentivava a aprendizagem do português e a melhoria do inglês.

This work is composed of two complementary parts: the dissertation and the documentary “NOS BASTIDORES DE UNE HISTOIRE BIZARRE” ("Behind the Scenes of Une Histoire Bizarre"), which can be found at these links: https://youtu.be/-_xnJ6WBO4k or https://youtu.be/JhfPw6ubdRo Both the documentary and dissertation aim to highlight the advantages of theatrical projects as a tool for improving the integration of immigrants and refugees in Portugal. I also intended to showcase the care and consideration taken in executing the film, respecting and dignifying the participants involved. For over 12 months, I followed the development of the theatrical project “Une Histoire Bizarre” as the director of the documentary. In this capacity, I sought to demonstrate the impact of this project on the lives of its participants, as well as the various challenges this group faces while adapting to life in Portugal. Based on my observations of the group, recorded footage and interviews, I concluded that this project had a very positive impact in the lives of the participants. “Une Histoire Bizarre” facilitated contact between the Portuguese community and the group, creating a network of mutual support among those involved. Additionally, through rehearsals and performances, it was possible to create a safe and trusting space where the beneficiaries could share their stories and culture. This initiative also provided an opportunity to learn theatrical techniques, fostering self-expression and self-esteem among participants while simultaneously encouraging the learning of the Portuguese language and improving English speaking skills.
