O ator Bruno Bravo e os primeiros sintomas: Estudo de dois trajetos profissionais que se intercetam no teatro

Abstract

A presente dissertação centra-se na descrição do trajeto profissional e artístico do ator Bruno Bravo e da companhia que fundou, os Primeiros Sintomas. A tese tem como pano de fundo a caracterização do teatro, em Lisboa e a nível nacional, nos anos 90, do século XX – altura em que o ator e a companhia iniciaram os seus trajetos – até à atualidade. Esta análise qualitativa parte das palavras do ator e encenador, aliadas a três entrevistas realizadas em momentos diferentes da sua “trajetória de carreira”, para com elas construir um “retrato sociológico” do seu percurso no teatro. Pretende-se descrever o impacto que as múltiplas facetas do trabalho de Bruno Bravo e dos Primeiros Sintomas tiveram - e têm hoje - na configuração do tecido teatral português. Por fim, realiza-se uma reflexão e um breve debate teórico sobre a gestão e a produção teatral, os desafios da profissão de ator, a economia teatral e a formação dos atores, permitindo compreender as alterações mais significativas, o posicionamento do artista e o funcionamento da sua estrutura de criação, no panorama teatral lisboeta, durante este período temporal.

This thesis focuses on describing the professional and artistic path of the actor Bruno Bravo and the company that he founded: Primeiros Sintomas. The thesis has as its backdrop the characterisation of theatre both within Lisbon and nationally, from the 1990s – when the actor began his career, and the company was born– to the present moment. In this qualitative analysis, the words of the actor and director are taken as a starting point that, coupled with three interviews that have taken place during different times of his career, allowed for the creation of a “sociological portrait” of his journey. It is also intended to describe the impact that Bruno Bravo and Primeiros Sintomas had - and currently have - on the configuration of Portuguese theatre. A theoretical reflection and debate are carried out on theatre production and management; the challenges of acting from a profession standpoint; and theatrical economics and training during this time, allowing us to understand significant changes, the positioning of the artist today and how their structure of artistic creation works in Lisbon’s panorama.
