"É meio igual": Importância do género des parceires nas relações amorosas das jovens bissexuais portuguesas

Abstract

A presente dissertação debruçou-se sobre o género des parceires (numa perspectiva trans-inclusiva e não-binária) nas relações amorosas das jovens bissexuais portuguesas. O impacto do género des parceires nas dinâmicas relacionais foi apurado a partir de descrições de 12 jovens (18-29 anos), recolhidas através de entrevistas semi-estruturadas. Este grupo encontra-se ainda sub-representado na investigação, algo que o presente trabalho procurou colmatar. Foi a partir das suas perspetivas sobre as suas experiências de, e expectativas para, relações amorosas com pessoas de diferentes géneros, e tendo por pano de fundo uma cultura cis-hetero-mono-normativa e patriarcal, em que a estigmatização de diversidade sexual, de género e relacional é sistémica, que as entrevistas foram analisadas qualitativamente, a partir de um enquadramento construtivista. Conclui-se que, apesar das jovens bissexuais entrevistadas afirmarem que o género des parceires não é uma categoria especialmente relevante, o mesmo pauta de forma marcada as suas relações. Para começar, embora se mostrem, de forma geral, contra os papéis de género, não deixam de os ter por referência, da qual se procuram, com mais ou menos sucesso, afastar. Verificam-se, para além disso, expectativas mais elevadas em relação a mulheres do que a homens, esperando-se relações mais harmoniosas e saudáveis com as primeiras e quase não se referem parceires não bináries e/ou trans.

This dissertation focuses on the gender of partners (from a trans- and non-binary inclusive perspective) in the loving relationships of Portuguese bisexual young women. The impact of the gender of the partners on the relational dynamics was ascertained from the descriptions of 12 young women (18-29 years old), collected through semi-structured interviews. This group is still under- represented in research, which the present work sought to address. The interviews were qualitatively analyzed, from a constructivist framework, from their perspectives on their experiences and expectations in romantic relationships with people of different genders, against the background of a cis-hetero-mono-normative and patriarchal culture, in which the stigmatization of sexual diversity, gender and relational is systemic. Despite stating that the gender of their partners is not a particularly relevant category, the relationships of the interviewed young bisexual women were shaped by gender roles and performances. To begin with, although interviewees tend to be against gender roles, they still have them as a reference, from which they try, with more or less success, to distance themselves. There are, moreover, higher expectations in relation to women than to men, with the expectation of more harmonious and healthy relationships with the former and there is almost no mention of non- binary and/or trans partners.
