Os suspeitos do costume: Casa 7+x

Abstract

A temática explorada ao longo do ano parte do texto “uma casa é uma obra de arte.” de kazuo shinohara. Iniciou-se o projeto com a investigação e descoberta de informação, através de contactos com ateliers, leitura de livros e pesquisa no arquivo municipal, sobre casas que teriam sido contruídas por arquitetos conhecidos e não conhecidos entre os anos de 1960 e 2004. Elaborado um arquivo que partia do estudo de 184 habitações, estas foram distribuídas pelos alunos da turma, com o objetivo de as investigar mais aprofundadamente. Assim, todas as semanas, as casas seriam apresentadas e discutidas em conjunto, abordando temas relacionados com arquitetura de outros países e a arquitetura da época em que foram projetadas. No seguimento desta investigação, foi necessário explorar e associar algumas das 184 casas a um argumento de curadoria e desenvolvê-lo. Assim, surgiu o tema “a arte que constrói emoções” cujo objetivo foi relacionar a tectónica com a estética e a sinestesia. Já noutra fase, e podendo ou não dar continuidade ao tema de curadoria, sucedeu novo projeto, o desenho de uma casa. O desafio foi explorar novas linguagens de arquitetura e as relações entre os elementos que uma casa poderia conter, ao mesmo tempo que se mudava constantemente os terrenos onde a casa se deveria implantar. No fim, entende-se que, mesmo não sendo propositado, algumas das questões levantadas ao longo do processo ainda se debatem no desenho da casa final.

The theme explored throughout the year is based on the text “a house is a work of art.” by kazuo shinohara. The project began with the investigation and discovery of information, through contacts with ateliers, reading of books and research in the municipal archive, about houses that would have been built by known and unknown architects between the years 1960 and 2004. Elaborating an archive that started from the study of 184 dwellings, these were distributed among the students of the class, with the aim of investigating them in more depth. Thus, every week, the houses would be presented and discussed together, covering topics related to architecture from other countries and the architecture of the time in which they were designed. Following this investigation, it was necessary to explore and associate some of the 184 houses with a curatorial argument and develop it. Thus, the theme “the art that builds emotions” emerged, whose objective was to relate tectonics with aesthetics and synesthesia. In another phase, and whether or not to continue the curatorship theme, a new project followed, the design of a house. The challenge was to explore new architectural languages and the relationships between the elements that a house could contain, while constantly changing the land where the house should be located. In the end, it is understood that, even though it was not intended, some of the issues raised throughout the process are still debated in the design of the final house.
