A construção social da identidade clubística: O caso dos adeptos do Clube de Futebol “Os Belenenses”

Abstract

Os efeitos da filiação clubística e o comportamento dos indivíduos enquanto adeptos de um clube de futebol têm sido os elementos mais estudados no futebol pelas ciências sociais. Esta situação leva a alguma negligência na análise daquilo que leva indivíduos se tornem adeptos de um determinado clube. O presente trabalho pretende explorar os fatores, motivações e processos que levam um individuo a tornar-se adepto de um clube de futebol. Para esse efeito recorreu-se ao caso específico dos adeptos do Clube de Futebol “Os Belenenses” a fim de se identificar os mecanismos que os levaram a ser adeptos do Belenenses, quais as fundações em que a sua ligação ao clube é construída e qual o papel e impacto que o Belenenses ocupa na sua vivência diária.

The effects of club supporting and the behavior of individuals as supporters of a football club, have been the main elements studied by the social sciences within football. This situation leads to some negligence in the analysis of what leads individuals to become supporters of a certain club. The present work intends to explore the factors, motivations and processes that lead an individual to become a fan of a football club. For this purpose, the specific case of the supporters of the “Clube de Futebol Os Belenenses” was used in order to identify the mechanisms that led them to become supporters of Belenenses, what are the foundations on which their connection to the club is built and what is the role and impact that Belenenses occupies in their daily experience.
